Nottingham

With an incredible culinary scene, extraordinary history, and luscious green spaces to be found just minutes away from the bustling city centre, Nottingham truly is one of the most wonderful cities to visit in the UK. The weather may be getting colder, but there’s still plenty to be discovered here in Nottingham.

Here are just three great places to visit all year round.

Wollaton Park

With hundreds of trees, miles of woodland walks and a herd of majestic deer, Wollaton Park really does have so much to offer, whether you’re hoping to enjoy a Sunday morning walk or a post-work stroll.

Children and adults alike love Wollaton Park due to its picturesque views and fascinating wildlife, but perhaps even more exciting is the fact it’s home to the spectacular Wollaton Hall, famous for being Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises. If you’re a Batman fan, this could be the perfect day trip spot for you.

Highfield Park

Highfield Park, situated on the University of Nottingham’s main campus, is a wonderful place to visit on a sunny day. Not only is there a charming lakeside walk to enjoy (mind the geese!) but there’s also a public play area to keep children entertained.

During the summer months, you can even hire a rowing boat and explore the lake yourself. Afterwards, relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake in one of the university buildings nearby.

Nottingham Caves

Nottingham has a truly fascinating history and what better way to learn about it than by exploring some of the 450 plus caves situated directly underneath the city centre? Going on a tour of Nottingham Caves is not only a great way to learn more about the city - and to catch a glimpse of what life would have been like during the Middle Ages and World War II - but is also a completely unique way to spend the day.
